BASIC SCHEDULE &
MINIMUM COMMITMENT
2 GAMES/WEEK
In the Lac St. Louis league with one local home game and one away game within the regional territory. Schedules are typically made available by the league in mid-May.
1-2 PRACTICES/WEEK
All on NDG Baseball’s territory. When there is more than one team in a division, Wildcats teams hold joint practices to ensure both sufficient numbers and that all players get equal coaching. Attending practice is mandatory.
OFF-FIELD/
Some Wildcats teams will hold additional off-field training. This is entirely up to the coaches and requires buy-in from the parents.
TOURNAMENTS/
One tournament per year if available.
SUMMER BREAK/
The league closes for one week during the first week of Construction Holiday only.
REGIONAL PLAYOFFS/
The regional playoffs typically go from mid-to-late August. Any Wildcats player who does not qualify for playoffs due to absence will automatically be wait-listed for the following season. Being part of a team is a real commitment and being there for playoffs is part of that commitment.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS/
60% minimum participation in all activities including games, practices, and extra training. NOTE: Per BQ rule, any player who does not play at least 50% of their own team’s season games will not be eligible to play in any post-season games.

B-LEVEL REGIONAL BASEBALL
The Wildcats are NDG Baseball’s B-level program. They play twice a week and practice on average x every 8-10 days. This is the level for ballplayers who love the game, but either aren’t at the A calibre level or have other commitments that prevent them from meeting the Lynx participation requirements.
This level makes up the majority of the association and has a mix of players from highly-experienced to brand new to baseball who play in the Lac St. Louis regional league.
COMPOSITION OF TEAMS
At the B level, teams are made equally, following Baseball Québec’s parameters on how to build teams. There are up to 3 B teams for every 1 A team from 9U-18U, with B teams carrying up to 14 players each. The basic parameters are:
- EQUITY IN AGES OF PLAYERS
Players are divided as equally as possibly by age. Ex: In 2026, 13U was made up of kids born in 2013 and 2014. If there were 2 B teams and there was an equal split of 2013/2014-born players, the rosters would have 7 2013s and 7 2014s on each team. If the split is unequal, it would be balanced as close as possible, taking into account the next point…
- EQUITY IN SKILLS
The NDGBA Competition Committee rates all players based on the 5 Tools of Baseball and some other criteria, and at the B level, does so in conjunction with the division convener. Once all players are rated, they are split as equally as possible based on their ratings. While this is by nature a subjective evaluation, the Competition Committee has a lot of experience as has a good record of creating balanced teams. If the teams are obviously unbalanced, the Committee may “trade” some players to re-balance. Trades may only be made to balance teams, not to make a strong team even better.
- FRIEND REQUESTS
NDG Baseball does not accept friend requests for two main reasons:
1/ It is logistically not possible to manage the many friend requests we receive and balance the teams based on the above parameters at the same time. If, at the end of the process, it’s possible to accommodate a request and keep teams balanced, the division convener will attempt to do so, but there are no guarantees
2/ Our vast experience tells us that kids playing with different players means they will make new friends and new teammates – and some of these friendships will last a lifetime. It always works out in the end.
