Rally Cap/

Girls & BOYS, AGES 4-7

Rally Cap 4/5, 6 and 7 practice on Sunday mornings, typically at Benny Park. Rally Cap 7 will also have a casual evening practice game each week, against themselves, starting around week 4, as part of the player development program.

All players except the Bobcats 9U-and-older will play in the Lac St. Louis league. This involves playing not only in CDN-NDG, but also in the LSL region. A-team (Lynx) play all over the region, while B-teams (Wildcats) will play occasional games in the West Island, but typically play close to home in areas like Verdun, Lachine, and St-Laurent.

There is no house league option that plays only in NDG.

Bobcats Girls Baseball/

Girls, ages 8-18

NDG Baseball is proud to offer the region’s biggest girls baseball program, the NDG Bobcats. While girls are not obligated to play in the all-female program, it is strongly encouraged. Girls are welcome in the co-ed stream, but the Bobcats program allows girls to thrive in an all-female environment in a way that is proven to bring added value to their experience.

If you would like your daughter to play in the Bobcats program, please make sure to choose the GIRLS option when registering..

A tryout fee must be paid to be eligible to attend, added during the registration process. If your child makes the team there will be an additional A Team fee of $100-$150 to cover the additional expenses related to running the Lynx program. This applies to the cost for more games, umpires, score keepers, etc. Extra costs for team apparel and tournaments may apply.

Team Creation/

We aim to make well balanced teams, as such, all registered players in 9U and up MUST attend Spring Evaluations (schedule to be posted on the website and emailed out).

“A” teams will be created based on performance and talent shown during tryouts. Balanced “B” teams will be created from the remaining players.

No requests to play with friends/family members will be accepted.

ELIGIBILITY & ABSENTEEISM/

Participation is the key to a player’s successful baseball season, however summer is also for vacations and sleep-away camp. If you know that you or your child will be absent during the summer for 2 weeks or more, please indicate it on the registration form and advise your coach as soon as possible at the beginning of the season, so they may make other arrangements for call-up players.

NOTE that due to the more competitive and serious nature of the level, any player who is away for more than 2 weeks during the season is NOT eligible to play on an “A” team. In order for any player at any level to qualify for post-season playoff, they must play in a minimum of 50% of their own team’s regular season games.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS/

FOR POST-SEASON

Per Baseball Quebec rules, in order to participate in Lac St. Louis Regional Playoffs and any subsequent Baseball Quebec Regional or Super Regional playoffs, a player must play in at least 50% of their own team’s regular season games. The only exception to this rule is in the case of injury, and only when that injury is reported proactively to NDG Baseball administration.

Any player who does not qualify for Regionals due to the above rule regarding participation will automatically go on the waiting list for the following season. This means that, for example, in a division that is capped at 53 players, any player who did not qualify for the preceding year’s playoffs due to lack of playing in 50% of games will automatically be wait-listed regardless of when they registered. Should that player’s division fill up prior to the close of registration, they will be wait-listed. Please note that players who cannot make it to at least 50% of their team’s games or those who are on vacation or at sleep away camp during Regionals cause a major disruption and this should be avoided out of respect for the other players and volunteers. If you know at the time of registration that your player will be away during Regionals, please re-consider registering so that NDGBA can assign that limited registration spot to a player who will be present.
