The Rally Cap Program is often a players’ first experience with the game of baseball! The program helps teach the five FUNdamentals of baseball (Fundamental movement skills, throwing, receiving, hitting, base running) in a fun and safe environment.

Players have the opportunity to learn, acquire and perform different baseball skills in order to progress through the different levels of the program.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT/

  • A baseball glove
  • Jockstrap
  • NDGBA-provided uniform and baseball cap

RALLY CAP – FOR 4-7 YEAR-OLDS

Boys and Girls participate in mixed practices, grouped by age, with kids aged 4/5 together, and then 6- and 7-year-olds having their own sessions.

All groups practice every Sunday morning at Benny Park. Parents are on the field with their child throughout.

The Rally Cap season runs from the last Sunday in May or first Sunday in June through to an end-of-season event in early-August each summer.

GOALS/

  • Sundays @ Benny Park from Early June to Early-August
    • RC4/5: 9h-9h45
    • RC6: 10h-10h45
    • RC7: 11h – 12h

The RC7 group also has weeknight scrimmages starting around Week 4 as part of the player development program. This is not only a fun activity, but also helps them get ready for the jump to 9U the following year. 7-year-olds also have the opportunity to serve as call-ups for the 9U division throughout the season, which is another great tool for getting them ready for the future.

In the words of the late Lionel Geller: It’s all about the kids!
