Officials

Scorekeepers & Umpires needed for the 2026 Season!

Game Officials Needed!

If your player is turning 12 during this calendar year, they are eligible to become a game official this season. We’re always looking for umpires and scorekeepers to join our ranks. Both are actual paying jobs, with the rate depending on the level of the game being officiated.

All necessary training will be provided by Baseball Québec. A registration fee is collected for the training, but it will be refunded with the first pay cheque.

Umpires

Umpiring baseball is for those who love the game and want the best spot on the field. It requires an excellent knowledge of the rules, good judgment, and ability to make quick decisions. Rookie umpires mostly officiate 9U and 11UB games. Pads, shirts, hats, clickers, and other equipment are provided by us.

Scorekeepers

Many of our officials start out as scorekeepers. The job requires a good knowledge of the rules, good handwriting, and ability to pay close attention to the game without getting distracted. Being a scorekeeper may be less demanding than being an umpire but it is certainly not any less challenging!
